The Metals:

 

Gold climbed steadily higher throughout most of world trade and ended near its early afternoon high of $1262.60 with a gain of 0.42%. Silver rose to as high as $17.206 and ended with a gain of 1.78%.

 

Euro gold rose to about €1122, platinum gained $8 to $946, and copper climbed a couple of cents to about $2.60.

 

Gold and silver equities rose over 1% by midmorning and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

The Economy:

Fed minutes may quell fresh doubts about a June rate hike MarketWatch

 

Tomorrow brings New Home Sales.

 

The Markets:

 

Oil rose almost 1% “amid growing confidence that top exporters would agree to extend supply curbs.”

 

The U.S. dollar index fell as the euro climbed higher after Chancellor Angela Merkel said the currency was “too weak.”

 

Treasuries held near unchanged while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P saw decent gains on deal making news from President Trump’s international trip.

 

Among the big names making news in the market today were London Stock Exchange, Anglo American, Amgen, and Ford.
