Precious Metals Moving Closer to Bottom

Canadian miner Pan American Silver believes Argentina this year will lift its ban on open-pit mining that forced the company to suspend operations at its Navidad gold project, CEO Geoff Burns said Wednesday.

Mr. Cahill was previously Vice President Corporate Development of Pelangio Exploration Inc., a junior gold exploration company active in Ghana, West Africa. Prior to Pelangio, Mr. Cahill was a lawyer in the M&A and corporate securities practices at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. At Davies, he advised on public and private transactions valued at over $15 billion, including Barrick's acquisition of Placer Dome in 2005. He also advised on public offerings totaling over $2 billion dollars for various Canadian companies. Mr. Cahill is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization, the Law Society of Upper Canada and a board member of the Mining Association of Canada. Mr. Cahill holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto.

Excellon reports 2013 annual and fourth quarter financial results

"During 2013, and particularly during the third quarter, we demonstrated our ability to generate cash flow at Platosa despite the significant decrease in silver prices," stated Brendan Cahill, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The biggest impact on our profitability was the significant volatility in the silver price, particularly during the second and fourth quarters. We have now taken steps to reduce the effect of these fluctuations and we are confident that these adjustments will improve cash flow and profitability going forward. Additionally, just as we realized cost reductions throughout the year, we will continue to further reduce costs at the mine site level through 2014."

Excellon Produces 2.1 Million Silver Equivalent Ounces In 2013

“During the latter half of 2013 we began to see the results of our continuing efforts to improve and optimize La Platosa production,” stated Brendan Cahill, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Of particular note, during the last two quarters of the year we milled almost 38,000 tonnes of ore grading 812 g/t silver for 866,000 silver ounces, demonstrating the potential to increase tonnage while maintaining an industry leading grade and cost profile.”

SilverCrest Announces Record Annual and 4th Quarter Production in 2013

“2013 was another successful year and marked SilverCrest’s second full year in commercial production. Management congratulates our operating team for their valuable contributions and for delivering on their commitments. Santa Elena surpassed production guidance which was revised upwards during the year and produced 2.66 million AgEq(1) ounces in 2013. Moving forward in 2014, SilverCrest will continue to focus on delivering strong operating results and optimizing our operating cash flow as we complete the Santa Elena Expansion and increase production to approximately 3.3 million to 3.6 million AgEq(1) ounces. Management will continue to focus on improving cash flows by reducing costs and increasing productivity where possible to offset the current precious metals prices.
