How much higher? A lot, especially since the analysts stated that silver coin and bar purchases were expected to contract due to falling demand globally. However, when the data was finally collected, it turned out that physical silver investment was the leading growth sector in the silver market in 2018… by a large degree. And, we can thank super-strong Indian silver demand for pushing physical investment to double-digit growth instead of a substantial decline. </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-datestamp field-field-article-published-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <span class="date-display-single">Thursday, April 18th</span> </div> </div> </div> <p style="margin: 0px 0px 1.25rem; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-weight: 400; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 17.008px; line-height: inherit; font-family: 'Droid Sans', sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; color: #000000; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff; text-decoration-style: i<p><a href="https://silverseek.com/commentary/silver-investment-demand-surged-higher-industry-forecast-17632" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Thu, 18 Apr 2019 09:03:29 +0000 SRSrocco 17632 at https://silverseek.com Silver versus Debt, Delusions and Devaluation https://silverseek.com/commentary/silver-versus-debt-delusions-and-devaluation-17631 <div class="field field-type-text field-field-article-snippet"> <div class="field-label">Snippet:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Debt is too high and has reached, as it did in 2008, exhaustion levels. This is a relief because any further downside would have ruined the giant positive pattern completing on the long-term charts, especially that completing in gold. What are these developments? There were 3 main ones. The first is that last week a run of bullish long-tailed candlesticks appeared on silver’s chart, which we can see to advantage on its 1-month chart below. They are bullish because they indicate that the market is rejecting lower prices and show that buyers were snapping at silver whenever it dipped. This past week was also characterized by a run of dojis (open and close almost at the same price), which is a sign of indecision and is bullish if they occur after a significant drop, which they did. In addition there were two distinctly bullish candlesticks last week, a bull hammer on Tuesday and a dragonfly on Thursday. </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-datestamp field-field-article-published-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <span class="date-display-single">Sunday, April 7th</span> </div> </div> </div> <p><span style="color: #000000; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; display: inline !important; float: none;">There were several developments last week that taken together suggest that the short-term bearish scenario set out in the</span></p><p><a href="https://silverseek.com/commentary/silver-market-update-3-main-developments-turn-silver-bullish-17625" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Sun, 07 Apr 2019 19:42:09 +0000 Clive Maund 17625 at https://silverseek.com COT Silver Report - April 5, 2019 https://silverseek.com/commentary/cot-silver-report-april-5-2019-17624 <div class="field field-type-text field-field-article-snippet"> <div class="field-label">Snippet:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> COT Silver Report - April 5, 2019 </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-datestamp field-field-article-published-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <span class="date-display-single">Friday, April 5th</span> </div> </div> </div> <table class="MsoNormalTable" style="width: 573px; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr style="mso-yfti-irow: 0; mso-yfti-firstrow: yes; height: 15.0pt;"><td style="width: 20.0pt; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; height: 15.0pt;" valign="bottom" nowrap="nowrap" width="27">&nbsp;</td><td style="width: 410.0pt; border: solid windowtext 1.0pt; border-right: solid black 1.0pt; background: #16365C; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; height: 15.0pt;" colspan="6" valign="bottom" nowrap="nowrap" width="547"><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-a</td></tr></tbody></table><div class="field field-type-text field-field-article-author"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Author(s):&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="https://silverseek.com/commentary/cot-silver-report-april-5-2019-17624" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Fri, 05 Apr 2019 19:34:45 +0000 SilverCOTReport 17624 at https://silverseek.com Confirmation, Outrage and Disgust https://silverseek.com/commentary/confirmation-outrage-and-disgust-17622 <div class="field field-type-text field-field-article-snippet"> <div class="field-label">Snippet:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> A recent interview with former CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton nearly knocked me off my feet because it confirmed what I have alleged, starting more than 12 years ago. The subject is JPMorgan’s manipulation of the silver market. The timeline is important because Chilton does misstate some facts that need to be corrected. I’m not a big fan of articles that include lots of links to past articles, but in this case it’s unavoidable. Shortly after Bart Chilton took office as a commissioner in August 2007, he began to make public speeches in which he asserted that the CFTC was no regulatory pushover, like Barney Fife on the “Andy Griffith Show” but more like Elliot Ness or James Bond and that the agency was a tough cop on the beat. I assumed Chilton was genuine in his faith in the agency, but since he was brand new to commodity regulation I was sure that he was unaware of my allegations to the agency over the prior 20 years about a silver manipulation due to a concentrated short position on the COMEX.
