Gold edged up to $1681.23 in Asia before it fell back to $1663.26 at the start of this morning’s news conference from the ECB and then rose to a new session high of $1682.98 in the next couple of hours of trade, but it then fell back off again in early afternoon New York trade and ended with a loss of 0.34%. Silver slipped to as low as $31.283 and ended with a loss of 1.16%.

February 6: Gold and Silver End Slightly Higher

Gold fell $4.90 to $1668.10 at about 6AM EST, but it then climbed to as high as $1679.50 in New York and ended with a gain of 0.27%. Silver rose to as high as $31.873 and ended with a gain of 0.13%.

February 5: Gold and Silver End Near Unchanged

Gold climbed $11.25 to $1684.75 by a little before 9AM EST before it fell back to $1666.85 in the next two and a half hours of trade, but it then rallied back higher midday and ended with a loss of just 0.03%. Silver rose to $32.10 in London before it fell back to $31.608, but it then bounced back higher midday and ended with a gain of 0.25%.

Gold rose $5.10 to $1672.90 in Asia before it fell to see a $6.45 loss at $1661.35 at about 9AM EST, but it then rose to as high as $1677.41 by midday in New York and ended with a gain of 0.34%. Silver edged up to $31.86 in Asia before it fell back to $31.38 and then rose to as high as $31.91, but it then fell back off a bit in afternoon trade and ended with a loss of 0.35%.

Gold jumped over 1% higher to a new session high of $1681.95 in the hour of trade following this morning’s jobs report before it fell back to see a slight loss at $1662.46 at about 10AM EST, but it then rallied back higher midday and ended with a gain of 0.18%. Silver surged to as high as $32.144 and ended with a gain of 1.18%.

Gold saw a $4 gain at $1680.50 in Asia, but it then fell to as low as $1657.85 in New York and ended with a loss of 0.7%. Silver slipped to as low as $31.092 and ended with a loss of 1.66%.

Gold rose $6 to $1668.70 in Asia before it fell to see a slight loss at $1661.60 by a little after 8AM EST, but it then climbed to as high as $1683.50 just after today’s fed announcement and the yellow metal and ended with a gain of 0.83%. Silver slipped to as low as $31.24 by a little after 8AM EST, but it then shot to as high as $32.24 and ended with a gain of 2.01%.

Gold climbed up to $1665.85 at about 9:30AM EST before it pared its gains a bit midday, but it still ended with a gain of 0.47%. Silver soared to as high as $31.47 and ended with a gain of 1.59%.
