Big Trouble Ahead For Copper Is Good For Silver

April 06, 2016

What the Bloomberg analysts are saying here is that they believe real Chinese copper demand is 54 percent lower after stripping out demand for copper tied to carry trade finance. This is bad news for the copper industry and copper price. While the Chinese may continue buying copper for financial carry trades, this will end at some time…. probably sooner than later.

Five Years – The Feedback

April 04, 2016

There was quite a bit of commentary generated as a result of making public my article, “Five Years That Changed Silver Forever.” This wasn’t particularly surprising, because if my assertions are correct about JPMorgan accumulating a massive quantity of physical silver at prices the bank rigged lower, nothing could be more important to the future price of silver.

Silver Is Coiled Spring

Silver’s reluctant, sluggish participation in early 2016’s powerful gold rally has been glaringly obvious. Instead of amplifying the yellow metal’s big gains as in the past, silver largely failed to even keep pace. The lack of silver confirmation for gold’s big move has certainly raised concerns. But despite silver’s vexing torpidity in recent months, it is a coiled spring ready to explode higher to catch and surpass gold.

Five Years That Changed Silver Forever

March 24, 2016

Ask any casual observer of the silver market what happened to the metal over the past five years and you’re likely to hear how the price fell from nearly $50 in April 2011 to under $14 at recent lows – a stunning decline of 70%. If you inquire further, you’ll likely hear a number of reasons for the decline, ranging from an oversupply of the metal, a strengthening dollar, falling inflation rates, and the collapse of the commodities markets.

Record Breaking Silver Factors In 2015 Can Make 2016 Quite Interesting

March 23, 2016

There were two record-breaking silver factors in 2015 that could turn out to be quite an interesting development for 2016. The figures that make up these separate factors don’t seem so striking until we combine them and study at the trends. This is what I enjoy doing the most. Why? Because I can see interesting developments that aren’t readily apparent when we look at the figures or data individually. By combing this data, we can spot noteworthy trends that could likely set up the market…

DOW JONES vs SILVER: Trading Volume Says It All

March 21, 2016

If we compare the Dow Jones Index to Silver, we can spot a troubling trend. Normally when a stock price or index increases, so does the trading volume. This was true for the Dow Jones Index from 2002-2009. If we look at the chart below, we can see a normal market… increasing stock value and subsequent trading activity.

Silver Market Update - Swan Song Last Week?

March 21, 2016

Whilst silver had a good week last week, outperforming gold and rising to multi-month new high, it looks like that may have been its “swan song” for a while. It looks quite positive at first sight on its latest 6-month chart with the new high and moving averages starting to swing into a more positive alignment, but once you “look under the hood” you quickly realize things are not so good at all.
